Hi to all off you,

since 3 days I'm a owner of the DUAL-HDD-NAS. It's installed in my network and over "Dyndns" I have access form "outside"! But my problem is that I like to use the NAS as mediaserver in my network (I have a NOXON installed). I tried to install Twonky but I got it not to run. What I need is an installation guide for dummies. After having success I will translate it to german.

Can someone help me in this case?

Hi Bassfrank For twokny and other package we are proud to present the tinky firmware mentioned at page(nas 2000 modded firmware) with support for second ide channell and other stuff with ipkg support, in the list of supported apps there is mediatomb (an upnp mediaserver) You can download the tinky dual hdd nas version here

Hi Samtruman

Good news indeed. Have question regarding your firmware version. As I read somewhere at haukap.net site version G5S52233211 doesn't provides telnet support any longer. So is there possibility to use 2.3.3x kernel (zimage file) with your versions of rd.gz and hddapp.tgz files?

Serial port pinout

Serial port pinout and load of useful informations regarding DUAL NAS can be found at Tokuda.net Wiki, and translated by Google here. To use it with PC you'll need a RS-232 ↔ TTL adapter, eg. MAX3232 (or equivalent), as described on NSLU2 AddASerialPort page. Serial port terminal settings 19200 bauds, with 8 bits of data, no parity (19200,8,N,1).

Thank you for the important link. I am still waiting for a rs232 TTL 3.3V <-> USB adapter buyed on eBay. I already found that pins but i wonder if someone else used it. Now i know for sure it's the right way to get console output for our NAS! Thank you!!

Next week I'll have Siemens serial cable, part number S30880-S4501 A801-1 /-2 (mentioned at page 80), and hopefully will boot my NAS with console. I manage to kill my box with (an alternative self cooked) firmware flashing beyond RedBoot accessability... so, now I need console badly (nevertheless I'm old unix BOFH). Stay tuned.

Hy, I have an 35HD-DUAL-NAS-E and i also want to upgrade the firmware to Tinky (Tinky-LS), but i always read Tinky-LS is for "DUAL HDD Nas", does it also work with mine NAS? There are some differences about CPU, chipset and i guess some more between both NAS systems, so i dont't want to kill my NAS with upgrade to an non-workable Firmware ;)

Thanks mlschlumpf

Tinky for 35hd-Dual-Nas-E

Hello!

I have read about a Dual-Nas-E with Tinky on http://inglele.blogspot.com/2008/01/mrt-35hd-dual-nas-e.html. How it works? It will give tinky for teh 35hd-Dual-Nas-E in foreseeable time?

thx for your answers klaus9300
